I’m struggling and wanna give up lol

It’s not going well! Is it a Taurus baby thing?? 😆 he has zero interest and our pediatrician cautioned us to not let it become a negative experience. So we’ve just backed off completely. We’re hoping one day he’ll just see all his friends at potty trained and he’ll just decide. He knows when he has to go, he can hold it. He just refuses to use the potty or toilet.

Still struggling here with the transition to briefs as well but preschool has been tons of help

Struggling here too! We switched rewards for using the potty from “he gets to pick a candy” (which is a rare thing… we don’t normally give him candy), to watching monster trucks for 30 min on YouTube + a candy. He’s obsessed w/ watching monster trucks on YouTube… so now we only let him if he goes pee or poo in toilet. We’re also enforcing that he try to use the toilet every hour while we’re home, starting w/ when he first wakes up. It’s difficult to stay dedicated to that, so we do our best! Daycare tries too, but so far… it’s been several months of trying to encourage him. We thought this would be easy because he seems advanced in his thinking & speech, but nope!

@Kara yes! Omg! My son is so articulate and seems to have an emotional understanding that’s beyond what would be expected but will not move on from diapers! He also loves monster trucks. We have a sticker chart and told him every time he even tries he gets a sticker and a full chart means a new monster truck. But the novelty is gone and he doesn’t care anymore.

We did it about a year ago ... we just stuck with it and no longer offered diapers as an option. We offered rewards and a few days after it stuck. We also went straight to using the normal toilet and not a small potty. There was zero interest in that after like a day lol

Setting 30 min timers was helpful for us...our lil one is now potty trained 🙌🏻
