Fun/ easy at home activities

I feel so guilty for not doing more with my son and taking him to parks, kids museums and stuff. I’m 26 weeks pregnant and just exhausted throughout the day. What are some fun/ easy things we can do at home?

At the end of the day, they genuinely just want our attention more than anything. I am still in my first trimester of second baby and since we’re both in this group, we both have toddlers so I totally feel you on the being exhausted. My son loves to cuddle up and watch a movie with me for nap time, read stories he loves to color, sit down and color with him for a little bit… Also, I’ve been reading a parenting book that says it’s OK to be independent so don’t feel like you have to constantly entertain him but at the day they just want our time! We try to do any learning opportunity activities too!

@Kadia thank you this is very reassuring. Most days I do better but today we only played a little bit in the back yard, some blocks in his room, but most of the day I was a couch potato with some shows on for him. He’s pretty good at playing independently with the tv on in the background but I just feel so guilty. I just felt like napping all day

@Cheyenne great ideas thank you!

I just had my second too they’re 19 months apart : I would suggest an indoor toddler playroom if you have any in your area . You get out of the house and baby gets social time . The one I go to is small so you can see baby anywhere in the room and parents can sit on the couch and watch baby play

@Elizabeth awe congrats! And thank you! We actually just got a membership for the children’s discovery museum and he loved it. I was still pretty burnt out after an hour an a half but it’s still better than what we have been doing

@Ashley thank you very much. I miss having a newborn so I had to go right for the second lol .I tried the baby museum as well and it was exhausting. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of toddler playrooms before but they are very low-key and mindless and the babies have a lot of fun. It’s just one small room usually. With monastery toys and small kitchen set ups/books and toys.

@Elizabeth awe this is so adorable!

@Elizabeth you’re welcome love! Haha I do miss it also but I feel like this time around will be much more challenging. I’m super nervous. How are you guys doing? Did you have another girl or boy? Yes the museum was exhausting. My son doesn’t get much exposure with other toddlers so it was a lot of regulating sharing and then at the end he tried climbing in the water play area which ended up in a tantrum and us leaving lol I think I have seen one in the area for some reason I thought it was a small preschool. I will look into to it! That does seem easier.
