You recover a lot quicker than you think you would. I'd advise stocking up on plenty of paro and ibpro and taking regular. You'll be fine pottering about the house. Just can't pick anything up ans want plenty of rest
@Megan thank you, I’ve definitely got plenty of painkillers and my patents are literally 5 minutes away so they can get here if need be xx
@Chloe thank you❤️my biggest concern was going to the toilet, being afraid I wouldn’t be able to get myself there as I’m really uncomfortable with the thought of anyone other than my boyfriend helping with that, but everything else I’ll be accepting so much help from mum and midwife☺️I will need help with showering unfortunately because we don’t have a head height fixture for it on our wall it just sits on the wall at waist level and our housing association isn’t doing anything about it, I already struggle with it so I know it’ll be harder post op. Thank you for the advice, I’ll def set alarms to remind me to take painkillers ☺️
Yes honestly you'll be surprised how well you feel. The hospital have you up my mum over to help with even picking up baby etc but it wasn't like that. You'll definitely be getting to toilet, pottering about home no problems. good luck, hope all goes well. I
Ahh in that case, just shower the night before he goes to work, or wait for him to get home, there’s no urgency to shower whilst he’s gone! And toilet wise you’ll be absolutely fine! They get you up and moving in the hospital so you’ll have been to the loo several times before he’s gone for the day so honestly don’t worry about that! As long as you take everything slow and you keep on top of pain relief everything else will get easier day by day! X
@Chloe thank you❤️❤️❤️
@Megan thank you😊😊
I can 100% relate to how you’re feeling and your nerves about your partner not being there. From my experience, you’ll be absolutely fine going to the toilet/showering on your own, the best suggestion I’d have to make things easier is to have snacks and drinks within reaching distance of your bed/sofa. Make sure you have tonnes of pillows easily accessible so you can prop yourself up/prop baby up to feed. Defo take help from your family/midwife as the easier you take it the better you’ll heal, but equally from my experience I could have managed pretty well on my own if I needed to. just take everything super slow. Most important tip: work out the intervals of your painkillers and set alarms so that you never miss when they’re due! Time flies and without my phone pinging I kept getting behind so alarms made such a difference. Good luck xx
