It depends on how much you bleed I suppose, I think this is different for everyone. With my first I was shocked by how much blood there was in the days after birth. I kept having to send my husband to get more maternity pads as I was going through a pack a day. The other thing to consider is cleanliness. If you've had stitches you definitely want to keep it as clean as possible whilst healing so I don't know if disposable underwear would cause problems with that if you can't keep changing it. I had stitches with my first and every time I went to the loo, washed myself with a peri bottle, dabbed dry with a fresh muslin and put a clean pad in to avoid infection
I would buy post partum ones. There is a lot of bleeding after.
Definitely worth keeping and having someone prepared get you the post partum products if you desperately need them. I packed some of the boots brand post partum pads which look a bit crap, but also have incontinence pads from my mum for the first few days of heavier flow. I didn't want to pay the extortionate amount for post partum products, so I'm putting my faith in these huge incontinence pads. 😂 I've got my husband ready to run to the shops if I need, but we'll see how it goes.
Maybe worth buying some disposable c section pants just in case you need an emergency c section. I think you can get them online or in boots. With my first I didn’t and ended up needing an emergency c section and had no underwear to hold my pad in whilst at hospital as it would rub against the incision
I’ve bought the incontinence nappys from tesco and then just normal big pads xx
