Potty Training

How are you getting on with your little one and potty training.. I'm a FTM to an autistic child.. and struggling. She doesn't tell me. I just feel like she doesn't understand. I feel bad as this September she started Pre School and fear that she probs is the only child that hasn't been potty trained.

Maximus is also waiting an autism diagnosis and we had moment were he was doing really well taking himself off and having a wee and we thought cool he’s almost there and now he’s not doing it at all! He has limited speech so taking himself to do it worked well for him but if I ask him he refuses!

Fully trained wearing boxers. If I add trousers too, he iust wets straight through and makes no attempt. Someone did suggest that I should start with shorts , so I'm going to try that . She won't be the only one who isn't potty trained xx

Fully trained day&night but can be a bit sketchy at preschool and they have to remind her 😂 100% wont be the only one not trained at preschool. My Son was 3.5yrs and wasn't the only one when he was in preschool + even if he was, it wasn't going to make a difference. Some just need more time and despite the pressure we put on ourselves, that's okay!

My 5 year old is diagnosed and still in nappies, has no understanding for her toileting needs and if her nappy comes off she will wee/poo anywhere and smear it etc it’s not something you can force especially with a child who has additional needs. I wouldn’t worry about the other children in pre school, when Scarlett was in pre school there were other children even some older than her who were still not potty trained and also pre school will be aware of her needs and understand why she isn’t potty trained x

My boy turned 4 on Thursday and still isn’t fully potty trained. I have his paediatric assessment on 5th November. But sometimes he gets it, more so with no pants on, and sometimes he seems like he doesn’t even get its happening or just doesn’t care! He is really good at holding it so he’s better at nursery than at home so they probably don’t realise there is as much of a problem as there is! But when he does have accidents there (rarely a poo) but they don’t seem phased by it atall!
