Getting pregnant after c section

For anyone wanting another baby, how long are you waiting before trying after a c section? I know it’s recommended a year to 18 months but just wondered

I'm currently 18wks pregnant after my c section in May. Midwives don't seem too alarmed with it being so soon after.

I was told 2 years. But to be honest I want to wait and enjoy this baby on her own for a while. I was thinking maybe 3/4 years whenever feels right x

@Marissa i agree, i was also told 2 years and they really decided to hone in on all the risks less than 12 hours after the section 🙄 i was thinking more 5 years to be honest! I know it seems like a big age gap to a lot of people but i think it's good! I just think it's best to go by what the doctors told you, and obviously go by what your body feels. I still personally get twinges of pain etc on my scar, so i couldn't even imagine getting pregnant within the next year even though it's technically okay

I was told 2 years but we’re waiting till little one is 12 months old before we start trying. We wanted 2 babies back to back but I had to have a c-section due to baby being breech so we settled on 12 months x

It is meant to be two years. I had a c section with my first and decided to start trying 18months after in case it took a while but got pregnant the following month. All was fine apart from being classed as higher risk due to the c section.
