okay i need advise ASAP idk if my waters broke?!
so on thursday around 9/10pm i lost about 1.5cm of mucus plug. this has been my FIRST sign of anything to do with labour im 39+2 and haven't experienced anything other than that one bit of mucus. today i woke up with wet pants, like a lot wetter than usual but not enough to leak through onto the bed. i cant really identify a smell other than what my pants would usually smell like after a night anyway, because i do tend to leak bits of discharge often and that creates an odour itself. i just need to know if this is worth all the attention of getting checked just incase? i really dont want to cause a fuss or make it into something it's not but i saw some information saying if it is then it puts us at risk of infection and that's what's now worrying me!! what do i do? should i wait a few hours to see if anything happens or should i call the maternity unit?

If it’s making you worry I would call the maternity unit and see what they say it’s better to be safe and know everything’s okay with baby😊
Go get checked! 🥰 Do not worry about "making a fuss" this is about your health and the health of your baby. Everyone there is supposed to be there to help you in whatever way is needed! If its not labor, then cool, maybe they can give you some additional signs to look out for. If it IS labor, then you've taken great care and are going to meet your baby! 🥰
I'd definitely go get checked! With my first, i lost my mucous plug, then around 12 hours later in the was in the hospital at 34 weeks waiting to give birth.

The swab to check for amniotic fluid takes 5 mins, so it’s always worth getting checked if you’re concerned. That being said, the risk of infection isn’t significant until 24-72 hours after waters break so I would suggest popping on a pad and seeing if you experience any more leaking!
