Potty Training Tips please read

We have finally cracked potty training to a point…. for pees during the day. I am so pleased. It has been a LONG slog to get here. Poops are hit and miss can do it in the potty but still avoiding it where possible not sure how to encourage this more. Also my son also still naps in the day. He’s very active and needs the nap. I’ve put a nappy on for this (it may be why it’s taken months for him to finally fully get going to the potty). Today has been a full on fight with me and my sister both trying to get a nappy on him for naps. They are often dry but I’d rather not risk it. I don’t want him to regress but also don’t want accidents in his sleep 😩

If he doesn’t want to put the nappy on before nap time just ask him to do a wee before he sleeps. That should guarantee he stays dry

Buy washable bed covers and then you can just change them if an accident happens. I usually wait while my kid is really ready and then it happens on the day and no nappy needed and no fighting about potty 🙂

I just put a waterproof sheet down for any naps and LO soon naturally learned to not pee while sleeping. We still have pull ups for bedtime, but tbh I think any peeing happens when they just awaken early

Thanks all I’ll give it a go 😀

U cud put like a puppy pad down under his sheet. My boy been doing potty training for about 4 weeks and he has his naps in his pants and he’s been fine. Always try make sure he’s had a wee first. He has pull ups for bed but he wakes up dry every morning so once his pull ups have all gone he’ll just be in pants n pjs and a pad under his sheet and waterproof mattress protector for just incase.

I always tell my son that nappy is for just in case of an accident and that’s what he always says to me, both for nap and bedtime.

Nappy during nap time caused some confusing for my son. But we potty trained pretty early due to the fact that. Nappies were a fight from 6 months onwards so that could have caused a bit of an issue. We still have accidents at naptime sometimes but I just have a waterproof sheet on that I change if need be. Usually as long hes not overtired at naptime and done a wee before hand he wakes up dry from nap. Still wears a nappy on a night witbout issue though
