Our little one was the similar, he didn’t want to wear nappies at home but instead would go all over the house 🫠 We decided to dedicate a weekend to proper training. No pants or nappies in the day. Got a toilet seat adapter and potty so he could use either. I tried the method of praising him and offering a treat. If he sat on the potty he got one treat, a wee was two treats and a poo was 3 treats. Set a timer and said every 30 mins “woo it’s potty time” and make it fun. Did this for a few days and he got the hang of it. He’s been potty trained for 3 weeks now. Still has the odd little accident out and about but otherwise fine x
@Christie thank you for the advice. Glad that worked for your LO! We started with no pants/ nappy and she would wee all over the house but now she does not go at all. Literally holds it in until she gets her nappy back on 🙈
I'm kind of in the same boat tbh. My little boy isn't asking for his nappy off but I have been taking it off while we are at home to try and get him to use the potty. He will tell me he needs a wee, so I will get him to sit on the potty but nothing comes out and then 10 minutes or so later it's like Niagara falls all over the living room floor 🤦 and there have been days at home where he will just hold his wee in for hours
@Jess did you try the rewards with treats? As well as lots of praise when she sits on it etc. Even if nothing comes out. We gave stickers too each time he did something. Hope she gets the hang soon
@Christie yeah, have tried this and she’s not interested 🙈 And to play games while she’s on the potty to get her to sit longer. Even if she does, nothing comes out. When she actually needs a wee (and tells me), she doesn’t want to go near the potty or toilet!
@Ellie so tricky isn’t it 🙈
Try putting the diaper in the potty.
