Tantrums

Is anyone else’s 10m old having tantrums?! My baby is generally a really chilled, happy baby but randomly this week he has started having a tantrum when I take anything off him e.g. his water cup when he’s just playing with it not drinking so water going everywhere! Proper tears when he rarely cries. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to react to stop this from happening?!

Oh my days yes. She actually shouts at me and almost seems angry? Its when we take something away mainly too. The beginning of big feelings! We just show her deep breaths or give her a cuddle and talk to her calmly. Most of the time she does calm down quick. You can’t stop it from happening its developmental, just learning to be a little person! You can only help them regulate their feels!

@Kelly I think I’m just worried about reacting in the wrong way and making it worse. I know all children tantrum but I don’t want to create a child who tantrums over every little thing when they’re older and thinks that’s how to get their way.

Yessss my baby throws her head back and screams and cries. She also crawls while dragging her head. It is the funniest thing 😭🤣 Sometimes, when I take something from her, she looks at me and screams. I try to keep a stern, yet unfazed tone with her and, if she is really angry, I will hug her until she calms down. I do not give into her demands, though. Today she threw a tantrum because she was in the rabbit’s room playing in their water bowl, so my husband picked her up and took her to the living room to clean her up. She immediately started her tantrum. She was pissed and calling for mama (she only calls for me when she is hurt, hungry or upset). My husband just playfully spoke to her and told her that this is what happens when you play in the water bowl. 🤣

Yes, my son, who is megachill and who’s never cried since birth, started screaming when I take away things. It’s quite funny, it’s a 3 second cry that degenerates into angry babbling. I don’t give in though and tend to either talk firmly to him or distract him, and he stops after a few seconds. But it’s definitely something he only started a few weeks ago

@Christina he’s so cute 😭😭
