Oh they just assumed ? How come??
If your baby was OP surely that’s the reason they weren’t able to come down through your pelvis? I’m not sure how they could just say your pelvis is too small to be honest so if someone’s said that to you I’d question it. Mine was OP too and ended in a section, I’m a v small build but have never been told it’s because of that, more so that it’s the position of the baby that needs to work in tandem with the efficiency of your contractions and that there is no reason why this would happen again in the same way next time. She also said it’s extremely rare that a pelvis won’t birth a baby as they detach into separate parts to let baby out, but did say that the only way to know a baby will come through it is when one does x
Listen to the VBAC Link podcast. They have a blog, fb, and IG. This is extremely rare. It's likely that your hips were very tight and not open enough to allow the baby to come down and sit on your cervix enough to dilate the cervix.
Me!!! And I just had a vbac 19 months after!!! For context I am 5’4 and was 110 pounds prior to first pregnancy and am just smaller like no hips at all. My baby was 9 pounds and also sunny said up and I got to an 8 after like 40 hours before needing a C-section. But I am here to tell you I just birthed an 8.6 baby vaginally and by the grace of God I don’t know how but he fit 😂 I did tear 3rd degree but I would do vaginally all over again as the recovery was sooo much easier. I say a vbac is worth a shot! I did make a post on all that I did to try and achieve a vbac but it came to God in my mind.
@Rebecca aw congratulations! That sounds like us haha. I’m 5ft and have always been tiny until I started having kids. First baby I had a c section and he was 10lbs 6oz. Then with the second it was 19 months later and she was 8lbs 3oz and I was about to have a vbac! I think some people do have too small of a pelvis to have a baby fit but I think it’s also possible for most people even with a small pelvis. So I think doing stretches and stuff to help open the area through it pregnancy can help
My first was an emergency cesarean he was OP I wasn’t dilating for days and my son had fetal distress, I was never told I have a small pelvis specifically but I am petite framed. My second I had a VBAC, again he was OP I did need forceps and an episiotomy because of his positioning he was getting stuck. Wasn’t the VBAC I envisioned but still very grateful to have had a successful one. My babies for some reason always end up back to back in labour! 😅 neither of my boys were big babies however x
Thank you all so much for your beautiful comments. I am now so excited to try for a VBAC in future ❤❤❤❤
I had the same situation now 2 years ago in Barnsley, UK, but wondering how dis they measured my pelvis. ???
