Hitting

My little girl has started hitting me or anyone for that matter when she’s annoyed or in a bad mood. She is 16months so I’m unsure if she’s still that little bit too young to be giving into trouble yet! But she goes directly for ur face and will try again if she misses🙈 How would you go about trying to stop this at her age?

Following as have the same issue with my 16mo girl too! She started doing this a month ago, and so far, ive been trying to gently hold/catch her hand and tell her a firm no/ it hurts/thats not nice/gentle hands etc. It gets really frustrating at times, especially when im tired, but im trying to be consistent with how i respond to it. How has anyone else managed with this? Im assuming its a developmental milestone - one of the frustrating ones lol - but would love to hear whats worked for others too 🙃

My LG has also started doing this when frustrated / angry, unfortunately for me if I try and stop her calmly she doesn’t listen and carries on. So I’ve started just saying ‘no’ quite firmly and walking away, I’ve noticed she’ll come find me and try cuddling me if I do that. But apart from that I don’t know how to stop her doing it 🥲

Aw I’m glad I’m not the only one going through it, I do the same by catching her hand and saying no or gentle hands but it doesn’t seem to work, this past week whenever she does it I move her away from me but that doesn’t bother her either🤣 the tantrums are something else and she’s not even 2 yet🙈

Also experiencing this with our LB. If I’m holding him when he does it I put him down, same if we are on the sofa etc I just pop him down on the floor. I tend to say “ouch, that hurts” instead of no. We have a dog and “no” is a command so I need to be careful not to inadvertently tell her off when I mean to communicate something to our son x

I’ve had this for a while from my daughter and I just say ‘oh no Martha *point to where she hit* hurt, that hurt mama, stop’ It doesn’t stop instantly but I just repeat this x
