not the same experience, but i had an episiotomy and was also terrified about going for a poo, the hospital prescribed me with some stool softener, so defo worth seeing if you can get some or can buy some. made it a little easier when the time came! also agree with what @Danielle has said, the donut cushion is great! you can get them reasonably cheap on amazon and it just helps with sitting down more comfortably i hope that you feel better soon and recovery goes well xxx
I had a C-section as well. My advise is that you keep taking lactulose until your first poo. It did help me lots and made it easier. Also, elevate your legs during your first poo as it helps you go with as little strain as possible x
Drink a ton of water too! Particularly if you’re breastfeeding
I don’t have much advice other than when I had my c section 3 years ago it did take a few days to poo but when I did it was actually not painful and really relieving. This time round I had a vaginal birth on Friday and oh my god the piles are huge. I’ve had to sit on a donut cushion all the time! I also have a 2nd degree tear so I’m absolutely terrified for my first poo so I really do feel your pain. I think we’re likely so apprehensive it’s making it difficult to relax into it and let it out. I’ve been recommended to take lactulose so that when it does come it’s a lot softer and easier to pass. The piles will definitely go away your body just needs time to settle. Mine I’ve got now were so big after birth I thought my insides were falling out I was so scared but they have gone down a lot. It also helps to try and keep mobile if you can as sitting or can keep them low.
