Contractions

Hi I was just curious because every doctors appointment they ask if I’ve been having contractions. If anyone could explain what that feels like I know it’s hard to describe feelings like that but I just want to know what I should be on the look out for other than feeling my baby roll around

Tightening around the stomach

So you can have Braxton Hick’s contractions which feels like period cramps and your stomach gets tight and hard. They are also very inconsistent as well.

Normal contractions are more intense cramps and increase in pain and are more consistent

You’ll know, I promise!!! When it happened to me the first time I immediately knew

Intense period cramps that go to your lower back and come to the front. Braxton hicks feel more like the belly tightening. Even holding your pee can cause them.

So contractions are when your stomach and prob your uterus and everything tightens and with real contractions cause pain. With Braxton hicks you don't feel pain but will experience the tightening. I remember my water broke with my first, and they were asking me if I was having any contractions. I said, " I'm not sure bc idk what they feel like." They told me, "Oh.. you'll know," and sure enough, I found out. Lol. I'll give you the same advice, you'll know bc they will get painful after a while. Best of luck!
