How do you actually go anywhere with a toddler who just wants to run??

I cannot keep him in his buggy for longer than 5 minutes unless there's an endless stream of snacks. I put his backpack reins on him and he goes absolutely bonkers because he can't run. He was flinging himself all over the place this morning because I stupidly attempted to walk with him round the shops. He just wants to run ahead and obviously that isn't safe. I tried putting him back into his buggy and he freaked out, arching his back and screaming. Honestly it's so embarassing. I seen another mum in a shop with her toddler in reins just calmly walking along beside her and I wanted to ground to just swallow me up

Following cuz same 😰😭

Same problem for me. Just so much energy in such a tiny little thing. I cant even get him entertained with snacks

Best thing to do is ignore everyone around you. They won't be judging or anything properly thinking god I remember that phase. And that mam with toddler In Reins didn't get to that point without been where you are now. Mine will walk and hold my hand so nice but before that he would run away and scream sit down i ignore it give him a second when he's calm I say come on amd hold my hand out calmly he would get up and walk with me. I do this for any tantrum and they are over with quicker than they started. No screaming or anything now. If he won't walk I say OK back in your pram he isn't happy bit we try again in a bit and he nos if he won't walk more with his reins and hold my hand he has to have a few minutes in his pram also have you looked at the ones that attatche to your wrist? Little one might like that better. When they are a bit older near 2 I use to attatch my bit onto the pram bar so he could walk a bit more ahead than me but still close. His bit is secure with a key that's attayched to your wrist x

We have a hip seat carrier that's absolutely amazing, they can get up and down freely (no straps), it's not handsfree but makes carrying lighter and easier and he might not kick off as not strapped in and can get down for bits Ergonomic Hipseat Baby Carrier, Waist Stool Seat for Carrying Baby Toddlers, Light Weight and Labor Saving-Blue https://amzn.eu/d/851BC1w

We take his beloved trike 😂 he is either busy pushing it around or just sitting in nicely pretending he is the one paddling
