Increase supply

I’m only getting like 3-4 oz per pump session at work as my little one is eating like 5 oz at a time rn. She is 2months old now. I’m back to work and I pump every 2 hrs at work. I start my shift at 6 so I pump at 8,10 and then I pump again at 12 and that is my last one until I get home/ right before bed. I’m starting to stress bc I don’t want to keep digging into my stash unless it is to give to the babysitter. I need help to increase it

Have you tried making a video of baby breastfeeding (if you do) and playing it while pumping? Or just watching videos and looking at photos of baby while pumping? On a separate note, it's recommended that baby only drinks 4oz max per bottle as they get all the nutrition they need from that amount, my daughter is 7months and is still only on 4oz at a time. You should only need 1-1.5oz per hour for her. Has her carer tried pace feeding for her to stretch of feeds? 3-4oz is a great amount for a pump session while away from baby though.

@Carly she is still hungry after 4 oz and gets fussy bc she is still hungry after 4oz

@Carly the sitter does pace feed

I can recommend waiting for half an hour after baby’s feed, and as long as their burped and clean, you can offer an extra ounce. A general rule of thumb for babies that only eat breastmilk is 1-1.5 oz per hour. So if baby is feeding every 2-3 hours a bottle should contain between 2-4.5 oz. A breastfed baby should never need more than 5 oz per feeding no matter the age. Unlike formula, breastmilk changes in calorie content as baby grows to give them what they need. Often times if a breastfed baby is over fed via bottle it stretches their tummies and this can cause them to be unsettled and can be confused for still being hungry.

Are you eating enough calories? Drinking plenty of water? Have your tried power pumping? Pump for a hour 20 mins of pumping rest for 10 mins, pump for 10 rest for 10 pump for 10 do this once a day for a couple days
