How often are you pumping and how often is baby feeding? I pump every 6 hrs / 4 times a day. It gives me enough for 2 6oz bottles when I pump to feed every 3 to 4 hours. My little is 11 months now. Have you tried power pumping to increase supply? Ensure your drinking plenty and eating we can only put out what we put in x
At some points in the day I pump more than he has in a bottle, and others much less. I guess it's how much he would feed from me in that time on a normal day. Morning is always better than lunch but he has a full solid lunch so that would be why. He's never had more than a 4oz bottle, although recently will happily accept 3oz now he's having solids
5 ounces is the perfect amount to feed a breastfed baby and shouldn’t ideally be going over 5 oz. My little girl is six months and she’s only ever had 4 ounces. A general rule of thumb for babies that only eat breastmilk is 1-1.5 oz per hour. So if baby is feeding every 2-3 hours a bottle should contain between 2-4.5 oz. A breastfed baby should never need more than 5 oz per feeding no matter the age. Unlike formula, breastmilk changes in calorie content as baby grows to give them what they need. Often times if a breastfed baby is over fed via bottle it stretches their tummies and this can cause them to be unsettled and can be confused for still being hungry. This being said your milk output will change throughout the day
