As someone who lives abroad, but wants to move to another place. Look at visas and visa requirements as a lot of countries now (thanks to Brexit) don't want/need us. Language barriers and money will be a barrier for you too.- it costs a lot to move and you usually have to have so much money in one of their banks. Canary Island, for example, you would need to have a job there that earns 1.5 times the minimum wage to be able to get a visa, this is €33,908. Look at your job, where your job is in need, and then the visa requirements for that country. Also, take into account cost of living/childcare/education. Good luck x
Amazing thank you all so much ☺️🙏🏽 I'll look into my job for sure as I know my job may not be needed in some countries 🙈 I'm a veterinary nurse . I feel if I was a vet it would be easier but as being a nurse I don't feel the job is looked at the same way as it is in the UK . But this was extremely useful information ☺️ thank you x @Rachel which country did you move to ? Xx
Australia is always looking for nurses!! Are you in London by any chance? Have a look for the Australian trade shows. They come every now and then to the excel centre to poach people to live there. They bring their doctors, nurses, fire fighters, electricians (all the trades they need) and run talks on living and working out there. They are always looking for nhs staff and medical professions xx
Found it! https://www.downunderlive.co.uk The jobs are sponsored and there’s big emigration talks too xx
Thank you ever so much I am going to look into this asap !!!! This seems so amazing 😍
I moved to Turkey. I moved before, when I was single, met my husband in North Cyprus (Turkish part), and I have moved back here (Turkey) on my own, whilst he works in Cyprus still. His mum lives with me, and he'll be home November- April but it's difficult with language/cultural barrier. I'm sure there'll be lots of countries looking for veterinary nurses. You can go on each countries immigration page, and they usually have a list of the jobs they want. https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/working-in-australia/skill-occupation-list# https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/preparing-a-visa-application/working-in-nz/skilled-work/skill-shortage-list-checker Australia has veterinary nurse as a skilled job, which would be perfect for you to get a visa! I checked and New Zealand only has Vet on the list but it could change x
The honest answer is you don’t pick the country, the country picks you. You need to see which countries will allow you to get a visa first. Australia is great (my husband is Australian and we have family out there) but you need to meet criteria. Maybe start with a list; what’s your job, which countries can you apply to with that, are their companies you can work for that can sponsor your visa etc. You can still move to an EU country but you’ll have to meet their visa requirements x
