Playpen for crawling baby

My little boy has started crawling, and lifting himself to stand and I think a playpen is probably a sensible purchase to keep in safe. Has anyone bought one? Or anyone know what to consider when getting one??

We've got a travel cot I pop him in whenever I have to leave the room to grab a drink etc but planning to baby proof the living room and pop a stair gate on the door as we don't have room for a full play pen

I try and get all bits done when she’s napping but if I need to go to another room, she comes with me. We don’t have a large enough space for one x

2nd baby and we've never had a play pen. As someone else said, if I need to nip out for a second and want to make sure they are safe, we have an activity table thing that she can go in and can't get into trouble!

Have the graco hexagon shaped one.

Yes we have just got one as our little girl is crawling too. We got the tutti bambini hexagon one x

I don’t have the luxury of space for a play pen but really didn’t need it with my first. You just make sure that they can’t get access to anything dangerous within the room ie. Plug sockets, hot drinks, anything with strangulation issues or breakables. I wouldn’t imagine you plan on just leaving the baby for long periods of time, so the should be fine. You can’t keep them locked up forever and I wouldn’t have thought a play pen would be a solution for long.

The main issue I have is that I have a gorgeous doggo. And my little boy really wants to play with his toys, which are obviously very grubby and get a little sharp from being bitten. Also, my baby has extreme sleep difficulties and doesn't nap/ sleep long enough at night for me to get things done 😭

I think we’ll get one for downstairs. We have a dog too and he’s old now, so it’ll just be used as somewhere safe to put baby while I nip to the loo, answer the door etc. so I know they can’t get to each other while no one is watching.
