My other half was on the side with the next to me for the first week so I could get in and out of bed easier. Once getting out of bed was easier we switched back to our normal Bed sides. Just take things slow and steady
I didn’t have my attached to the bed. I left a gap between the bed and cot so that I could get up. I found that I could get up and down relatively easily straight away but I’d still recommend taking it easy and making sure you have everything you need next to the bed xx
I found the first week really painful & relied on my partner a lot. But taking codeine massively helped with the pain relief & I could do a lot more when taking it!! So I would recommend staying on top of pain relief meds.
I had my partner however I chose to breast feed! It was very difficult for the first week. My boy ended up staying with me a lot I was hugely sleep deprived. Best thing you can do is try to rest as much as you can in the first week and then start to move 2nd week in and carry on moving. You should be doing any lifting at all really if you can help it for definitely the first week. Take your time getting up and lying back down or doing anything x
I had a gap by the side of the bed so it was easier to get out . But honestly I felt fine and could do most things very quickly x
Hook a towel to the bottom of your bed, pull yourself up with arms and swing out, bend your knees allllll the timeeeeee x
I put a gap between my bed and crib so it’s a little easier to hold the crib and space for me to get out of bed coz next to bed fully can be difficult at the start esp
