Oct turned Nov baby

Just after midnight on 2 November I had a lovely home birth for our second baby, a boy, who was a surprise. He was 12 days late and I was on the cusp of an induction (because I was so fed up being pregnant) when my waters went spontaneously waiting for a room to have them broken in! I had been experiencing latent labour signs for weeks, I was so uncomfortable and frustrated. If you’re in that space right now please know it will pass once your baby is here. This meant I was able to get back home and labour there. He was a whopping 9lb5oz which I pushed out using only gas and air, breathing techniques and help from the midwives to not tear so badly. We did have to go into hospital for observations but it was non-emergent and we made it back home soon enough and it did not ruin the home birth experience.
