Some signs of reflux are gagging, arching back, refusing to sleep when put down cuz of pain, vomiting. But if your baby doesn’t really have these symptoms she might just be cranky from a growth spurt since she’s extra hungry
@Nathalie that's what we are leaning towards hopefully it passes quick
@Jessie burp your baby in between feeds and sit them upright. My baby slept in a baby sling for a while because she refused being put down from the gas pain. My baby’s reflux got better randomly idk how but I hope it gets better for your baby. She is almost 4 months. You can talk to your pediatrician, they can prescribe a thickener for the formula which can help.
You can try to feed your baby more often but less amounts so she digests the milk better
@Nathalie her doc is more along the lines of she's gaining weight so they don't care to deal with the reflux and it hasn't bothered her in a while. But her dad did say he didn't get a burp out of her from The feeding before that so it could have been a gas bubble. She's just been cranky all day idk if it's cause her wake windows are all over we've been trying to extend them to 2 hours so she might not be too happy about that.
@Jessie I see. My baby also didn’t have problems gaining weight even though she has reflux. Tummy time always makes my baby get a big burp out and gently bouncing her on my lap. Yea don’t stress about the wake hours just go with what your baby wants. Naturally they will be more awake when they are ready.
Every baby is different some have shorter wake hours and some have longer. Like my baby is up 3-4 hours during the day without a nap sometimes. But her sleep is bad like she never slept the night 😭
The only thing that calmed my reflux baby was more formula. I would just give it to her. I still do. No matter what. She spits up a lot, but it soothes her. I dont worry about hours between feeds. BasicallyI feed on demand. She's also on prevacid for acute pain between feeds. Now she's a happy spitter. I go through 20 bibs a day. Can't wait until she can sit up and 6 months start solids. I see baby spit up in my dreams.
I would recommend Mylicon drops after the feeding. It sounds like trapped gas
I put some Ovol on our babie’s soother in between feeding and this seems to really help. Seconding taking a break to burp while feeding and sitting them up for atleast 15-20 min after eating.
My baby used to scream and nothing consoled her because she had gas pain. She wanted to nurse more because the milk helps with reflux pain but overeating made her vomit. She hated being put down cuz of the reflux. Sometimes babies cry a lot from gas pains or reflux. But also eating more frequently and fussiness could be because of a growth spurt.
