@Sara she takes off her pull-up when she wets it, can easily pull down her bottoms, pees when we're both on the toilet together.
@Rebecca She may be interested, just not ready yet. She's getting there, just not quite there yet.
My daughter was like this the first day. We had her fully naked. She did so many wees on the floor and pooped on the grass. The next day was totally different, she was way better. It’s like something just switched overnight. We still have accidents but she’s great now. I set a timer and put my daughter on the toilet even if she didn’t want to go for a wee, read her books, blew bubbles when she did a wee or poo on the toilet as she loved bubbles. We started off with every half an hour but by the end of the day this was 12 minutes. I would just keep at it personally!
I recommend the Oh Crap method. Initially you keep a small potty right near her and an eagle eye for when she starts to pee. Then quickly move her to the potty and say "pee goes in the potty". By the second day my daughter was making the connection to how it feels when she needs to go and sitting on the potty. Personally this makes so much more sense to me than using a timer and sitting there when you don't have to go. The first 2 days were hard and then as things clicked it got easier very quickly. My daughter was 22 months.
@Carrie was her communication quite good at 22 months?
@Carrie thanks! I've been trying to keep an eye on her, but I'll do even better tomorrow. I tried putting training panties on today and that was even a hindrance when I was quickly bringing her to the potty while she was peeing. Back to naked tomorrow. She's LOVING being fully naked, as in she takes off her shirt. 😂
@Incognito Yes, she's actually a bit ahead in her communication and she was already showing many signs of potty training readiness by 22 mos. She was also very eager to please and wanting to assert independence when I started potty training and that helped.
Sounds like she's not ready. What were her readiness signs before you tried?
