Christmas with a toddler

I’m a first time mom and I have a 1.5yr old she is busy and gets into everything. Christmas is my big decorating season and my time to shine. How do I keep my toddler from grabbing everything and inevitably pulling my tree to the ground?

I’m only putting soft/non breakables within her reach in the living room, all my special ornaments arent going up this year only non shatterable ones, and I have her baby gated out of the rest of the house so I can do my normal decor through the rest of the house although I’m still mindful of where she can reach!

I put toys I know distract the kids at the bottom of the tree worked last year with my daughter so she would go for them rather then the tree I actually did a halloween tree this year just in prep for the Christmas tree going up so firm no when going to touch it after a few times they didn't bother with it brakeables high shelves mine are climbers so I have to think and not put certain stuff too low I also did there own Christmas sensory corner last year which I will do again with there own little tree to put things on and take off from pound shop that was actually 3£ 😂

Don't put anything on the tree that will break/be ruined if it falls off (our glass baubles have taken a break the past 2 Christmases). Set a firm boundary, don't touch! And have a few decorations that she is allowed to play with. Good luck! ❤️

You can get a felt tree that you can put on the wall for toddlers & they can decorate themselves. Maybe that will distract her?
