Don't do any heavy lifting, keep the scar area clean using mild fragrance free soap, ask for a PICO 7 dressing if it's available at your hospital. Keep on top of your pain medication they usually prescribe dihydrocodeine and paracetamol. You may need to inject blood thinner injections after surgery. Don't drive until you're able to carry out an emergency stop without causing yourself pain, usually recommended not to drive for 6 weeks but it's not always doable.
What’s a pico dressing @Nicole ? Got mine tomorrow
I found personally getting up and moving around a little bit helped me a lot I had a shower the day after my C-section and then went out 2 days after for a small walk and kept doing that it felt like it really helped me especially with mental health as I was no longer stuck inside
Make sure you keep on top of your pain killers. Do not wait for the pain to start. If you do not have a walk in shower, you may want to have some flannels and a bucket or use the sink for the firat few days.
