EARLY LABOUR SIGNS?🤍

Hey mamas! First time mum here and unsure of what to expect during early labour. I’m currently 38 weeks exactly and have been experiencing quite painful cramping in my lower stomach and pelvic area, the pain has been irregular for the last 3 days now but my waters haven’t broken and still no sign of the mucus plug. Not sure whether I’m going through latent labour or if these are just normal Braxton Hicks Contractions. How will I know? 💗

Hiya! I am also first time mum, currently 40 weeks (due date today!). I have been experiencing the same cramping as you're describing for quite a few weeks (probably from around 36 weeks onwards). If it’s irregular and goes away with a bit of focus on breathing, I wouldn't worry. That's just your body warming you up for the real deal to come. Braxton Hicks are separate - That's when your belly hardens as uterus muscles contracts and they should not be painful. When these do become painful, that would be a start of the labour. That's my understanding of it anyway. Hope that helps!

Following as I’m also 38w and experiencing the same cramping. Wondering if this means labour is close or what! 🫣

Braxton hicks will make your tummy tight but won’t hurt too much, just a bit of discomfort, actual contractions will make your tummy tight and you will feel pain through your back and through the tummy, hope this helps!

Hey lovely ladies, I would say go with your gut, just as this happened to me on Monday, I had my beautiful baby boy on Tuesday morning at 6.16am. All day I was experiencing cramping period like pains that didn’t really come consistently but they were there all day, i thought too that it was braxton hicks practice contractions. I got them worse toward the night time and it was until I ended up timing them and they were pretty much every 2-4 mins. I actually ended up ringing the hospital just because I had experienced a small bleed then that same night (this was the thing that made me ring) within 1 hour 30 mins I went from 0-10cm fully dialted and I was in the labour suite ready to push! So I would ring and go with your gut just to be sure that you are safe! I was so happy I went because otherwise it would have been a very different story! Love to you all, hope everyone is well. We got this girls! We are amazing ✨❤️

Awww congratulations daisy!

@Sarah thank you lovely xxx

Update: Still having very bad pains,, had a gush of clear liquid at 2 separate occasions, which were uncontrollable but felt as if I was wetting myself (sorry if tmi😅) The contractions are happening fairly close together. But still haven’t lost a mucus plug, just watching and seeing how I go. Before I call up the hospital.

Update: My son has now been born 😂💙 turns out they were REAL contractions…….. arrived at the hospital just to find out I was already 2cm dilated once my cervix was checked😅 Can’t believe I went to go and get my nails done and I was having contractions and didn’t know that it was that serious 😂😂 the whole time I was in early labour 💙 My baby boy is healthy and well born 5lbs and 9oz 💙💙💙

Congrats angel! 🩷
