A bath is allowed after you have your dressing removed, I think. I'm sure that's what they told me..
@Alisha I know shower is fine, but I want sure about a bath where you're more submerged in the water. Not necessarily a salt bath
@Rachel thank you!
I was told I could shower but not to soak in a bath for 2-3 weeks because they use dissolvable stitches just to make sure it’s healed enough
Thanks!!
I asked when I was being discharged and they advised me to wait the 6 weeks. I’m dying for a long soak in the bath x
@Amy me too! There's such mixed messages out there
I’m just going to wait then enjoy a nice long soak with a glass of wine at 6 weeks lol x
6 weeks they told me hun. I'm 5 weeks PP and can't wait for a bath!!
I was told 6 weeks
@Claire did they say why?
@Emma did they say why?
@Emma Clarke think it's just to ensure the stitches are healed well before soaking
@Emma Clarke risk of infection and to ensure your stitches are healed. Xxx

Thank you everyone for responding!
It very much depends on your wound healing and ability to safely get in and out. It’s not advised to take a longer bath until your external wound has fully healed because of the risk of infection. You also need to be able to safely get in and out of the bath without straining your abdominal muscles
It depends. I was told no for 6 weeks especially until the incision was fully shut
I was told the 6 because like they don’t want anything in your vagina because of infection so if you’re sitting in a bath you could get water up there too so I just didn’t want to risk it either
@Ceri-Ann thank you!
@Gabrielle thank you, really helpful!
I was told bath is ok as long as rinse the wound with the shower.. as our shower isn't worth using as its so crap.
You can take a shower literally on the first week too r you referring to like a salt bath ?
