You can use ibuprofen whilst breastfeeding though I don't know if that will help. Breastfeeding network drug page are the best for advice on medication you can take whilst breastfeeding, this is their pain relief page and you can contact them by email too. https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/factsheet/analgesics/
You can also take dihydrocodeine as it’s metabolised differently to codeine (I used to have gallbladder attacks so needed a lot of pain relief whilst still breastfeeding). Ibuprofen is also fine x
I was on tramadol a little while ago for a broken finger and was assured I could continue breastfeeding
I phoned my GP recently as I was in pain and needed strong painkillers, they told me it was fine to take co codamol. Also in the hospital they gave me ibuprofen and I’ve taken it while breastfeeding. Phone your GP and ask them.
Ask for diahydracodine. It's a branch of codine like cocodamol is but you can have it while breast feeding
Honestly I had this fight with our Uk Pharmacists 🫣 it was sending me crazy. GP said I could have co-cocodamol. Pharmacist said they wouldn’t serve me it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. GP & Midwife said nonsense and I had to get a prescription for it. Pharmacist then gave it me. Talk about going around in circles and losing confidence between who was right and wrong 🫣 it’s unnerving!
❣️ I just had mine replaced last week and it caused such a painful period. What helped me some was topical lidocaine patches, ibuprofen, and laying down with a heating pad/hot water bottle during my LGs nap time/before I went to bed. It didn’t take the pain away, but made it tolerable enough so I could push through and continue caring for my busy 13 month old. I see you’re in the UK, so I’m not sure what the medication names would be there. But ibuprofen and topical lidocaine are both safe for breastfeeding. I hope you feel better soon! ❤️🩹
