Are you pace feeding with the bottle?
I’ve never heard of a way to increase the flow when breastfeeding. Try using a smaller bottle nipple flow and make sure you are pace feeding. Baby might begin to refuse nursing altogether if she prefers the bottle more.
What nipple size are you using? When my son was leaving the nicu they said not to go higher than a 1 MAYBE 2 because it would match the flow of nursing better. If you are at a three or higher I tried coming down sizes over a few weeks so it’s not a big adjustment. Like others have said if baby starts to prefer the bottle they will refuse to nurse
i accidentally put my milk in oversupply by pumping more than i should have, i noticed the flow of milk is much faster when he eats now with a higher supply, which is almost a nad thing, i am trying to curb my supply a little bc of engorgement but also I don't want him choking at the boob, so there's pros and cons. however we use a "0" extra slow flow nipple on his bottles and i think those are too fast for him even lol..
@Khyia I use the size 0 (she’s almost 11 weeks). She will nurse like normal most of the time but I guess when she’s really hungry she’ll tug & pull & almost bite me with those razor sharp gums (lol) in frustration if it’s not coming out fast enough.
@Hartise it’s best to let her be frustrated but continue nursing. She’ll get what she needs 😊
@Hartise gotcha. That’s around the time my daughter started being a nosy eater. She’d turn her head trying to take my nipple with her to see what her brother was doing.
Try using a heating pad!
Mine too. Following
