Anyone breastfeeding with nipple shields?

Has anyone tried them? do they do the job? With my baby we are really struggle with positioning ,my 2week old just doesn’t seem to get the nipple as deep as needed ,because she just doesn’t seem to want to cooperate the low lip to attach properly when sucking. She folds her low lip ,how can I avoid this ? Will nipple shields help?

I used them for 5 weeks and they were really good/helpful. Just really annoying to constantly clean (I recommend buying a few). Once my baby was 5 weeks and had the hang of breastfeeding he latched to my nipple out of nowhere and I haven’t used shields since. I think they were great

My baby is 3wo and wouldn't latch without the nipple shield. I'd say introduce it and there will always be time to fade it away.

My nearly 2 week old is the same. I've started using mine and I find they're really helping, especially with recovery as well as my nips are healing from poor latching. Agree that they are a bit of a hassle to clean though

I use them, trying to wean off them so using intermittently atm. The only issue I have with them is a lot more milk leakage than without and the extra faff of putting them on, baby knocking them off, cleaning them. But, I would not still be BF at 5 weeks if we didn't have them. I had tommee tippee ones but they were the wrong size (I bought in pregnancy not realising how much things would change!) and bought lansinoh ones in the right size

Life saver! I permanently use them due to my baby having a bottle in the nicu and it’s meant I can still breastfeed as I got nip trauma so badly due to latch issues and severe engorgement pain.
