Baby lack of laughing

Hey everyone. My little boy is 6 months today šŸ„¹ he is honestly the most happiest, smiliest boy, I get comments from people all the time about him when weā€™re out coz heā€™s so smiley. However he doesnā€™t laugh. Heā€™s done one proper belly laugh about a month ago, and heā€™s done a few chuckles since, but thatā€™s it. I googled it and saw something say if theyā€™re not laughing often by 6 months it could be a sign of developmental delay or a hearing problem so Iā€™ve freaked myself out. Anyone else in the same boat or have other children theyā€™ve had experience with? TIA šŸ¤Ž

Following.....my little boy is like this too!

My little girl is exactly like this

Whilst most babies will have let out a laugh by around 6 months itā€™s just a guideline and most wonā€™t laugh regularly and on response to things until around 9 months so I wouldnā€™t worry yourself about it thereā€™s still time šŸ™‚ My girls 5 and a half months and only really laughed a couple of times, clearly she just doesnā€™t find me very amusing šŸ˜‚

My baby wonā€™t laugh regularly she does smile but laughing itā€™s rare unless I try really hard to make her laugh she does it otherwise no she just smiles I guess itā€™s common at this age

This is the problem of trying to follow milestones to the dot! And the pressure of comparing with other babiesšŸ„¹He is smashing it and will belly laugh! At this point they are much more aware of their surroundings so their little brain is super busy captain all! My little one is about to do 6 month next week and same !

Our little girl is nearly 6 months and weā€™ve only ever had two belly laughs. She chuckles but I have to work really hard for it. Sheā€™s the happiest smiliest baby too and Iā€™m not worrying xx

My little boy is now nearly two (not sure why this post came up on my timeline šŸ˜‚) and didnā€™t really laugh consistently until he was 9-10 months, just the odd chuckle every month or so, like you I got worried about itā€¦ safe to say he is now giggling non stop every day, and on track with all his milestones. One phrase Iā€™ve found incredibly helpful throughout the two years is ā€œcomparison is the thief of joyā€ 100% the source of all my stress and anxiety throughout his first 2 years has been comparing him to others

If you are worried it hearing related maybe try tickling and see if that makes them laugh? Fingers crossed it's nothing, all babies have different timelines x

My little girl doesn't laugh either but she is the happiest baby I know and smiles all the time. My boy was also older than 6 months when he started laughing. Try not stress yourself out with milestone timing, I did last time and missed so much joy for the things he could do by focusing on what he couldn't. Trying really hard not to do it this time round x

My little girl is the same we just say she's a tough crowd šŸ˜…

Perfectly normalā¤ļø don't worryšŸ™‚ā¤ļø

My son is 17 months and it was so hard to even get him to crack a smile until 15 months. Now heā€™s chuckling all the time at everything since going nursery. He finds Miss Rachel hilarious!

My baby laughs like every other day, he doesnā€™t laugh often and these a little chuckles. I wouldnā€™t worry to much xx

7 months (6 months adjusted) exactly the same here full of smiles and an occasional 'haha' and that's it šŸ˜… I'm just trying to be patient but those little tiny bits of laughter have me all impatient šŸ˜…šŸ¤£

My little boy has only laughed a couple times with me but only when I tickle him or play peekaboo however he has laughed a bit more with my sisterā€¦ I think he just sees me as a comfort blanket rather than funny!
