I was in for 4 nights after my elective section. My operation was in the afternoon and the first night I didn’t quite have the use of my legs I was only just about able to lift them a bit on the bed. I had the catheter in til 6am the following morning and then was up and about after that (very slowly to begin with) People say to stay in hospital and take the rest but it’s really not very restful. I had two good nights (as the nurses took the baby to mind for a few hours) and two really hard nights where I was managing the baby by myself and he was really unsettled. I think if I had my way again I would just stay 3 nights. I don’t know if I would have been ready to go home before then but the 4th night I think I would would have been better off at home with my husbands help
I stayed 2 nights
Had section at 11am on the Wednesday was home by 3pm the next day. All was well x
I stayed one night they just wanted me to pass urine 3 times xx
I stayed 2 nights 3 days, I would have stayed another night but I have older kid at home. It took me much longer than others to be able to stand up from the bed and take first steps. But that’s mainly due to loss of blood, low pressure and low platelets.
C section at 9am Monday, out by 6pm Tuesday, would have been earlier but they were so slow and getting the discharge stuff sorted. Couldn't wait to be out of there!
I could have gone home after 24 hours but chose to stay an extra night as pain/mobility wise I didn’t feel ready
Had mine at 3pm on the Tuesday and was discharged at 7:30pm on the Wednesday evening.
24 hours post birth
The hospital I was at was 24 hours minimum. That’s with all being well with mum and baby. My baby took a while to feed enough and got jaundice so ended up being a week 😢 but that was nothing to do with the c section itself, I watched multiple women go home at the 24 hour mark ☺️
