I am in the same boat mama…don’t worry everyone’s struggles are different only we know how difficult it is for us. I have tried pumping through the day to keep up- you can try that if it works for you. Also it would be great if anyone can throw light on which formula would be the best for the babies- a lot of people talking about European brands (Kendamil)being better but I’m not sure.
Your babe is fed and that’s what matters. You’re able to still provide some and THAT is amazing! Who gives a shit what others are telling you. YOU know what’s best for you and your LO! Breastfeeding is amazing and stressful all in one. Mom guilt also sucks ass and takes a toll on you and makes you feel like absolute shit. But you are doing an amazing job with what you are able to do and provide. And for that, I’m proud of you!
@Brittany thanks Brittany 😊 I try my best to get those two sessions even though I feel the pain and it’s not the best feeling .. I’m still getting used to it I guess ..
@Priscilla Roy Imandi I’m glad to know someone can relate to what I’m going through 😔 I’ve tried pumping as well but again, I don’t like the feeling .. it’s just weird I don’t know how to explain.. also, I pumped for 30 mins and only 30ml was collected and it demotivated me so much .. I use this formula called Bobbie and it suits my baby.. I’ve heard about Kendamil as well but it’s never available here in Virginia
@HJ Renee girl your message made my cry and smile 😭 big hug to you 🤗 I hope you’re doing well, Mama ❤️
Big hugs to you too momma!! You deserve it! 🥰 I’m doing pretty good. I hope things start looking up for you 🥰
My supply was horrible with my son and I really didn’t know what to do about it so he was formula fed. He is a very active and very healthy 2 year old. He has only been sick a couple times in his life. With my daughter (she’ll be a month old tomorrow), I am trying my best to keep up with pumping but only getting half of what she eats. So the rest is formula. There is nothing wrong with how you feed your baby. As long as baby is growing and happy (and quite frankly mama is healthy and happy), you are doing great!
Fed is best. Your baby is eating and that is all that matters! We all want what's best for our babies, but we also need to prioritize what is best for us because a healthy/happy mom = a happy healthy baby. Sending you all the hugs. The newborn phase is so hard, you're doing an amazing job.
My baby is half formula fed & half breast fed! I don’t produce near enough to feed her full time! Any amount of breast milk is amazing. You are doing AMAZING! Please talk to/go visit a lactation consultant in your area. Babes latch could be bad, or baby could have a lip/tongue tie which can also make BF painful. A fed baby is a happy baby no matter the form. Also going to follow up by saying I had very bad PPA/PPD with my first & ended up with an infection in my uterus 5 days pp. I had to start formula day 3. He progressed amazing & is a happy thriving toddler now! I know it’s hard to not feel guilty, I cried & cried with my first because I wanted to provide for him so bad I just couldn’t. Sending you all the good vibes & wish you the best on whatever you decide. Remember your mental, physical & emotional health are most important! You’ve got this! ❤️
I breast fed my first born for 4 months. Had no problem with producing but my milk didn’t have enough protein so instead of getting bigger and stronger she was loosing weight and not getting enough carbs. Doctor made me supplement with formula. Skipping breast feeding this time around and going straight to formula. Sometimes it’s what you have to do no need to let others make you feel bad!
Statistically, babies get chunkier on formula than breast milk actually. The real benefit to breastfeeding is the immunity bonus and your baby is still getting help there with the two sessions
