Hey! My son is almost 13 months, he started walking at 11. I bought him a push walker and encouraged him to use it. And I would stand him up and encourage him to try to take a step or two towards me, I would hold his fingers too
Hey love so my baby was always scared of a push walker so my grandma encouraged him to push a chair around and that was very helpful at getting him to walk but don’t rush it either ur baby has so much time to try and walk on their own !!!
Same boat. He’s fine!
I know it’s starting to get cold but barefoot is best. This will help so much with balance. My daughter started walking at 10months. I always had her barefoot & I would put her toys at her standing level. I also encouraged using her walker outside of her walker if that makes sense. Like a push walker. This help too but if you don’t have one don’t worry. He will walk when he’s ready. Enjoy it while it lasts because I regret encouraging her to walk early. 😂😩
My babe started at 10 months. But no rush some babies walk at 18 months and there’s no problem. I agree with the chair pushing! I taught my son to pull to stand with one of those activity center cubes
My baby started walking at 11,5 and I didn’t do anything special to help him. He did everything on his own and on his own time. Your baby will walk when they are ready and you have plenty of time.
My son started taking his first steps around 11 months but actually walking at 12 months and 5 days! He did not like push walker and was scared to let go of my hand. What really helped was him walking from mama to dada and back. Just a few steps in between us and if he was making good steps I would step back which would encourage him to make more and more steps. Also, make sure there is plenty of empty space for him. I noticed that my son was more interested in walking in the hallway where we don’t have any toys on the floor. It is true that they don’t walk for a while but when they do start walking you can’t stop them! 😅 I am sure your boy is going to walk in no time!
When we put my daughter in a walker at 10m, she wuld FLY around the house. But wen she wasn't in one, she wuld just cruise around the furniture. Then we got her a push toy and she walked with that but not on her own. I then started holding her hand as we wlkd around the house, so she culd get the feel of walking "independently." It wasn't til around her birthday mid Oct, that she was takin longer steps. Now this girl is walkin all over the place. She sometimes looks like Frankenstein, but walkin is walkin! Lol
It will happen. Just let it happen.
Hi my daughter is also 13 months old and doesnt walk she takes a few steps and falls. When she’s on the furniture I sit on the ground and I call her and motivate her to come towards me and I start clapping and telling her yayyy good job every time she takes steps towards me. She started with 5 steps now she takes like 10 steps on her own. Still not fully walking yet. But this is what helped me build her confidence. Most kids don’t fully walk until 18 months old. A lot of Hispanic families will try to pressure you and it happens a lot maybe also any type of family. Like my family when she was 12 months would ask is she walking yet blah blah blah. Very annoying. I’ve been working on this with her little by little most of the time she’s in her play pen where there’s a Matt so she walks back and forth in her play pen practicing. I have tile floors so I mainly practice walking on the carpet or on tile if I’m there watching her. But this is what I do for her .
