Breastfeeding mummas advice !

I am finally going on girls night for some dinner & drink away from my 6 month old baby girl 🥺 Will probably have a couple drinks but if I usually pump at 9 pm before bed, do I still pump whilst out? Or when I get home.. If had a couple glasses wine will that still be ok to pump? TIA

I don’t worry about alcohol in my milk because it’s so low, but I did see someone online say if you mark the bag when you’ve had alcohol and pumped, you can mix it with other milk before baby has it if you want that further peace of mind!

I went out last weekend for the first time and had the same questions! In the end I didn’t pump whilst out, I nursed baby at 2pm before I left, Dad gave bottles of expressed throughout day, then nursed again at 11pm when I got home. I had a few drinks and finished drinking by 8pm. All was fine! Boobs were a bit full but nothing crazy. I think it’s fine for the odd occasion, and depends on what you’re wearing 😅

Hey, your milk contains very very little alcohol when you drink - the same as your blood concentration. If you can safety pick up your baby, you can safely feed them. If you were stumbling drunk your BM would still only be about as alcoholic as a glass of orangee juice so you are all good. Pumping wise though try and keep it at your normal time to ease the pressure in your boobs and maintain your supply. Although at this stage one missed feed is unlikely to affect your supply at all. You can find this info in place like La Leche League.
