I wouldn’t stress yourself out too much (easier said then done) I’ve struggled too, found easier if I’m in the bath although it’s tricky to catch if it runs into the bath🤣 I’ve only tried a couple of times and only managed 0.1ml from each boob. I’m currently 37+6 and not going to worry about it too much now if it happens it happens and if it doesn’t it doesn’t. I’m planning on bottle feeding but have thought about baby’s first feed to be from the breast so he does get a little bit of colostrum xx
@Katie thank you, I can't say I've tried in the bath yet, just tried massaging in the shower and then trying to harvest when I'm out and sat on the bed but I'll definitely try in the bath, thank you 😊
@Lauren haha I'm definitely trying not to stress too much, I know it doesn't really matter if I can't manage anything in syringes as I assume because I've had a drop come out, it does exist, it just doesn't want to come out in any real quantity so he should get some in his first feed 😊. Thank you for your reply, it's comforting to know I'm not alone and there are others that aren't too concerned if they can't harvest any xx
This was me yesterday. I tried to use a breast pump and nothing worked but I knew there was something there. So I started massaging my breast and then squeezing the areola and at first it was started as drops then the more I did and started to think happy thoughts and bounce of the birth ball, more started to come. I ended up getting 1.8ml yesterday which I was so surprised at. Maybe trying to not overthink and just having fun with it might help! I know easier said than one x
I’ve found the only way that works for me is to start by stimulating the nipple with a handheld breast pump for a minute or two and then stimulate nipple with my hands after that. ☺️
Tor me personally, I was getting nothing much at all until my man set them off!😅 he was just as suprised as I was but now I'm producing between 0.5 and 1ml each session haha
I thought this and wasn't enough to collect for about 4-5 days and now I'm getting about 0.5 a ml per breast on the first round (I'm using a manual breast pump to get the drops to form and then syringing up) as hand expressing wasn't doing enough x Subsequent attempts on same day is less than first attempts but still more than previous days. Still only getting about 1ml a day but it will gradually increase x Don't give up, the first day was literally 1 tiny drop and now 1ml at a time - progress is progress x
Have you tried doing it in the bath? With your breast literally below some nice warm water? I finally managed to get some going yesterday like this x
