Please remember that not everyone has as much as the lucky ones who make that much. I used to get 1 ml a day from both so honestly just gobwith what your body has dont stress. Sizing im not sure im understanding as you shouldnt be using a pump to do this as its sticky and you'll lose loads to a machine... do it by hand as above and you'll more than likely do better. 1. Make sure you're hydrated this is so important. 2. Massage and being comfortable and relaxed is also so important. This video someone shared really helped me. Its an NHS one. I hope this helps ☺️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAYE0Vx3bYE&pp=ygUUaGFydmVzdGluZyBjb2xvc3RydW0%3D
I tried for a couple of weeks to harvest colostrum, it just didn’t happen for me. Baby boy still breastfed absolutely fine as soon as came out x
No I'm much the same. I get most when I use a pump but not enough to collect into a syringe still. My hands get tired hand expressing so I've been using the pump to see if it increases enough to start collecting in a syringe from hand expressing. I really struggle to get anything off the nipple! The midwife reframed it well for me which was just "it's great you're producing colostrum full stop" which helped.
@Maddison same here with my daughter!
What are you using to harvest, if your using a pump its not going to be very successful, hand expression and massage is your best friend, ensure your well hydrated, well rested and comfortable when you do it, try to get yourself in a comfy place that's warm and massage your breast tissue before stimulating the nipple, each person and production is different, I started off getting only a few drops and them got up to around 5/6 ml a day, don't stress about how much you produce right now, so many factors come into play especially hormones. Hope this helps 🙏
