EBF with pump top ups

Anyone experienced In this? I want to stay mostly EBF but have a bottle to give the baby at night. When should I pump in the day to get a good output?! I've found pumping at 9am I get 2 Oz but I've tried a few other times in the day and hardly any milk comes out after 10 mins! Some help with routine would be massively appreciated x

I only pump for my little one as we never get a good latch. The best time I’ve found I get the most milk is first thing in the morning. I usually get between 250/300ml the next pump I do about an hour and a half to 2 hours later and that’s 120ish. Throughout the day most I get it 90ml until 11pm and I get 120ish again. I pump on average every 2.5h between 7am and 11pm and get about 830ml on average for the whole day. Also my pump sessions only last about 10-15 minutes per side. After that nothing comes out so I wouldn’t be worried yours is after 10 minutes 😊

@Leigh thank you! How old is your baby? I feel like if im only getting 60 mil at my best then my supply isn't great? What do you think... I'm nearly 4 weeks post partum x

He’s 13 weeks old tomorrow. My supply has been like this since he was about 3/4 weeks old. Not he’s getting bigger I do have to give him the odd bottle of formula to top him up, he’s a hungry boy!

At the start of pumping I would hardly get anything and sometimes I would only get 30ml so try not to worry too much, it’s all supply and demand. I’ve heard pumping straight after feeds helps to increase your supply. That might help increase it if you’ve got time to try that. You might not get a lot but it could encourage more to be produced and in a week or so you might start getting more xx

Thank you! Xxx
