Breastfeeding

If you’re breastfeeding, can you exclusively pump only or does it reduce milk supply if you’ve done this before?

I personally have not done this but a friend of mine does. She’s had two kids that she exclusively pumped with. It was a lot of work, and she had to consistently pump and couldn’t really break her routine. Its absolutely possible though

A lot of people who exclusively pump become over producers, there is a girl I follow on TikTok she has been pumping for over a year

Thank you!

You can exclusively pump but it is really hard work and some people just cannot produce enough milk with a pump even if they have a good milk supply. I went back to work full time when my son was 5 months old and I spent nearly the whole day pumping (luckily working from home!) just to get enough for 2 feeds. I had no problem with my milk supply when I fed him directly, my body just wouldn't produce milk for the pump. I tried sooo many different ones! Everyone is different, it's one of those things you won't know until you try.
