Anybody else have a full-term baby that needed a NICU stay?
Both of my kids were full-term and over 8lbs, but their heartrates dropped while I was in labor and I needed urgent c-sections. Both needed help breathing afterwards. My first was in the NICU for three hours, this time, baby was in the NICU for 12 hours. Just wondering how common this is as I process his birth.

My hospital doesn’t have a nicu but after my c section he did need to be taken from me into a nursery (my sister stayed with him the entire time thankfully) and he was there for lung/breathing issues for about an hour and a half. They said he needed a CPAP device to help him breathe. They also told me it was either bc I was laboring and pushing for so long some fluid got into his lungs, OR that the medications in my epidural got to him and had some sort of effects. We have been home a week today and he has not had anymore issues thankfully. It was so scary though!
