Someone in my bf group said they lean back more when bf because baby was choking her let down
I have a huge oversupply (10oz every 3 hours if I pump) and my 12 day old was struggling just like this. My lactation consultant had me try leaning back while feeding to decrease the flow from the let down or even pumping a little bit off before feeding so that it's not so forceful! Both have helped immensely for my son to tolerate breastfeeding better.
Could be that your letdown is too fast for her. Maybe try a more upright position, like football.
@MK im definitely going to try both of these and see what helps. It scares me every time
My 2 week old does the same thing! I take her off immediately when she starts chugging and I make her stop eating for like 5 seconds then I re-latch her and she slows down
Try different positions
