sleep regression

help help! my baby is 5 months in just over a week and has been going through the 4 month sleep regression since 3 and a half months, before that she slept amazingly sometimes 13hrs a night! everyone told me stick it out that’s all you can do but it’s not getting any better, in fact it could be getting worse and she’s coming up to 5 months now!🥲 please if anyone has any tips or anything! or how long before it got better? am i supposed to let her self soothe as she just cries and i can’t let her cry it out so always end up soothing her myself.

My little one is going through the exact same and we have found lullaby music and child’s farm sleep spray as worked a trick!!

@Beth glad it’s not just me! thank you, we put a lullaby on and some projector lights after a feed and that usually gets her to sleep at end but after that when she wakes throughout nothing other than a feed gets her back down, she’s screaming at the moment and nothings working🥲💕

Ours got worse before it got better. We’re now just over 5 months and just starting to get longer sleep again. I was getting 7-8 hours of sleep and now back to 4. But that’s better than the 2 it was for the last month!

Did your baby like to be swaddled or settles when cuddled? We found that swaddling her in a blanket (with holes) in her cot, and when she was in a deep sleep we would gently unwrap her and let her just lie on the blanket. This helped to get her down and reduced some of the wake ups. But agree it was blumin awful!

Honestly, you’ve just gotta power through every sleep regression ends at some point. My little girls lasted about 6 weeks, at week 4 ish I gave up and ended up getting her in bed with me which helped us massively. It’s so difficult, I cried a lot because she was up every hour or so, she now sleeps all night long xx

It shouldn’t last too much longer. She’s pretty young to be doing the cry it out method. I would probably try to soothe her and then try to put her back down. And repeat. But does she use a pacifier? Also not saying you should do this but sometimes if it’s early and I just need another hour or two I’ll just put him in his swing and he will fall asleep. I put it right next to my bed.

thank you everyone! just gunna keep powering on through and hope it gets better soon! hoping the same with all of you🥰

Literally going through the same thing although never had 13 hours, that’s so dreamy!!! It feels like it’s ever going to end and the broken sleep is starting to get to me as you still have to parent all day on shit sleep🫠

@Zoe i feel you! it really is exhausting i feel like im close to breaking point! and ino 13 hours was insane but dont see much chance of that coming back, had my 5 mins in heaven😅🥲💕
