Sleeping rage ?!

I recently found out I have Borderline personality disorder anytime I go into an episode i catch myself trying to break up my family and a relationship of 7 years and also I want to sleep after I'm out of it. Is this normal? My boyfriend says whenever I'm in an episode my eyes look empty, and this happens every 2-3 days. Does it get any better 😭😩😩

I’ve always thought I had bpd. how did you get diagnosed?

@Kaldre Basically I just went and found a mental health therapist and told them I think I have BPD and they just done an evaluation an asked me a bunch of questions.

@Kara I have my first therapy session next month I’m definitely bring this up bc something is off w me😂

Yes this is normal for untreated BPD. I have done a lot of research into BPD since it was suggested I had it from my last therapist (I had been up front from my first session about not wanting any official, on paper diagnosis’s done). That was almost 2 years ago and I’m proud to say that I more than likely at this point do not meet diagnostic criteria anymore! I have worked extremely hard on myself by myself with self awareness and mindfulness (key points of DBT) and just not allowing myself to make excuses for myself (which includes the disorder). It’s important to have a solid support system and that they are very well informed on the disorder and how to help support you as well as ensure they set boundaries with you and take care of their own mental health. The eyes you’re referring to is coined BPD Eyes. I get this way too and it’s typically an indicator of emotional dysregulation but it is not a listed symptom of BPD. You’re more than welcome to message me for more info 💕

Oh and I should say that BPD IS something you can go into remission with! You’ll always need to be more mindful of your emotions and how you’re reacting to things (which is why it can only go into remission because it does have the chance of coming back if you stop practicing mindfulness and self awareness for whatever reason) but you can make it easier to regulate through some really hard work to where you don’t meet diagnostic criteria anymore!

Do you have a spirituality? A faith? I’m my experiences and others with mental health is realizing the root cause is spiritual, especially after experiencing trauma , you need the mental help and the medicine if you choose to take it but the spiritual help is essential…I have been diagnosed with bipolar and I have heard voices and everything even dreams of a demon dragging my soul all throughout the room…I know everyone has different beliefs but over the past decade what I and many others have experienced is the battle between good and evil and these are demonic attacks…everything has lead me to the Bible and I was never a reader but you can ask your higher power if you are open to it how to get free because the eyes are the window to the soul…I have seen people delivered from these mental illnesses and I’m working on my own healing and deliverance as well
