Following as my 1 week old takes ages to feed sometimes and would like to know the sane!
My baby used to do the same - heâs now outgrown it (probably around the 8 weeks mark) and usually feeds for 7min on one boob per feed. You can unlatch him after 10min people say, however I had decided to let him comfort nurse as I thought if he does it itâs because he needs it and I wasnât in too much pain. Up to you what you want to do!!
My daughter did the same at 4-5 weeks, now weâre 5+2 and sheâs overnight become super efficient with her feeds and takes less time than before. Babies can get lazy at around this time as they donât have to work so hard for milk as they did before and just wait for the let down, staying at the breast for ages⌠I say let her and see whether it improves after a few days to a week. Thatâs how long it took for us :)
Idk my 3 month old eats for 1-2 hours usuallyđ sometimes significantly longer
Sounds like potentially comfort feeding. Like using you as a pacifier lol. I was told to listen for the gulps every few sucks and if you arenât hearing it then likely they are done and just relaxing on there. I tend to start by trying to slowly pull my nipple away from the baby and sometimes he wakes back up and keeps feeding or he lets it go. Then Iâll wait longer to see if theyâre actually swallowing anything. If not, I unlatch them and usually they are totally fine with it cause he was half asleep anyway lol

Your baby is probably comfort nursing. So you donât have to go for so long. 5-10mins is the time they take to eat. Anything beyond that is basically comfort nursing and you donât have to do it. You can just comfort baby and put baby to sleep
