Cluster feeding

Day 2 old baby and breastfeeding. He is already cluster feeding. Helppp. He cries then is fussy and did this for an hour nonstop until I put him on my breast for feeding and he stops. I’m going crazy and just started! Any tips? Will it last long? I do plan to pump soon

He has to eat all the time until your milk fully comes in. Another day or two and it should start getting a little better!

Thank you so much. Didn’t realize he needed to eat all that much. It’s stop and go with him. But knowing it’ll be a few days it’ll get better. Thank you

Remember the breast isn’t only to feed; it’s to soothe himself, for comfort, to sleep and for everything. It’s normal. It’s also gonna help you have a good supply. Milk supply is on demand. Just hang in there, it won’t last. Keep in mind that breastmilk is easy to digest that’s why they feed more often then formula fed babies. Babies stomach is also very tiny so he needs to eat more often

He is establishing your supply, right now it’s just colostrum. Give it another day and it’ll come in and he won’t feed as much! First few days are hard but so worth it, you’re doing great ❤️

It is completely normal for newborns to cluster feed. That is why is so hard the first month.
