@Sundrella thank u lovely, quick Q though - will the cabbage leaves dry out my milk? I've seen women do that when wanting to dry their milk out and I've always been worried about being a 'just enougher' with my milk so I'd hate to reduce supply. Have you noticed any drop?
Hey, so a few years ago they realised that blocked ducts aren’t actually caused by a milk blockage that needed clearing, but actually inflammation of the milk duct which causes a narrowing of the duct making it more difficult for milk to pass through. The advice changed and now they advise that you DONT massage, DONT overfeed, and DONT apply heat. Instead, feed from as normal but leave it alone in between feeds - apart from applying a cold pack to it - and take ibuprofen. Can take a couple days until it’s sorted but it should resolve that way. I’ve had a few. https://www.nct.org.uk/information/baby-toddler/feeding-your-baby-or-toddler/inflammation-milk-ducts-also-known-blocked-ducts
Keep an eye on how you’re feeling as if it does turn into mastitis you’ll need swift treatment! Hope you get it sorted soon.
I've not realised the drop but I try to feed on demand so not noticed any difference. I totally understand your concern, my baby rejects bottle after week 9 (week 16 now). We were so pleased at the beginning where she takes it all. Now every drop is so precious 🙈 Hope you're feeling better soon! xx
I've started feeling mine yesterday afternoon. I've taken some paracetamol and ibuprofen. Then hot shower with gentle massage. Cold pack and also cabbage leaves. Try to put the leaves around the hard bit for about 20mins and I kept feeding like usual. It's my first time using the cabbage leaves method (3x in 24hours). I hope it will work for you too ❤️ x
