I needed to have stopped for 3 months. I called the clinic to ask their policy. The doctor just asked if I had stopped at our consultation. I’m doing a natural transfer.
Most clinics will have a minimum of 3 months before you can back to a transfer. I had to do 3 months prior to trying for our 2nd baby.
Oh really? Can I ask why you had to stop? I’m doing an FET cycle this month (took my trigger on last week and have my transfer on Friday) and am still breastfeeding my first IVF Bub…
I just panicked and called my clinic to double check the medication I’m on is breastfeeding friendly and it is 😅 thank god! I felt sick for a moment then!
@Danielle notice you are in Oz - uk policy is 3mths after BF. But sounds like you are way down the process anyway!!! Prior to starting your meds were you having regular periods? It’s the hormones that have to rebalance in your body that are totally thrown when bf. Good luck for Friday ☺️

BF releases hormones that can work against the embryo, my doctor said stop breastfeeding and then come back. I’ve been done 9 months and now 5 weeks pregnant
@Francesca thanks for the well wishes! Yes I got my period back at 14m PP and am now 18m. I checked with my specialist gain today and he did as long as I’m not too depleted no my levels of iron etc etc are good enough to support a healthy pregnancy, I should be ok… I just had my transfer so I’ll let you guys know if FET while BF works for me 🤞🏼

I was told I needed to stop BF for a good couple of months before I did my FET as you need to get back in the swing of periods.
