Anxious

Currently in triage at 39+6 for reduced movements and I have been kept in the hospital with the reasons that my fetal monitoring hasn't met the criteria!!🥹 i am so confused as they aren't being clear. Fetal heart beat on the monitor I can see is within the range of 120 -160. They kept saying baby is sleeping since I came in at 2:00pm. Although I have been booked for an induction tomorrow but I am so worried that something will happen to my baby and might get into an emergency!!🥹🥹. Has anyone had this. P:S I feel my baby's kicks so how on earth are they saying he is sleeping since???😳😳🥹🥹🥹🥹 .

So they knew my baby was sleeping because I hadn't felt as much and her heart rate wasn't increasing after movements. The criteria is based on everything the machine measures and calculates. If you ask a midwife they should be able to explain what it measures and what it's looking for. I wasn't always told when I went in but I had a midwife explain it all to me one day and it really helped! If it helps, I was induced, highly recommend the epidural for induction but it didn't affect my baby at all. Her heart rate and everything stayed completely stable all through my labour and it was very long!! I gave birth vaginally and no emergency situations at all. Inductions don't automatically equal emergency situations. Slightly increases it but plenty give birth after an induction with no issues at all!

I was induced 2 weeks ago for a similar reason, reduced movement and static growth. I was very confused from the moment I was admitted for induction but if you meet the criteria to get baby out quick and safely then they'll do so. My induction was very positive, did as much as I can on gas and air and eventually opted for epidural which was the best decision. I was able to rest and push baby out vaginally with no complications or interventions! I know it's easier said than done but try and stay open minded about everything and remember to ask questions if you are ever unsure ☺️ good luck!

@Bethan thank you Bethan🥹❤️

@Sophie thank you so much Sophie🥹❤️

To be honest, I had a really positive induction and it was my no 1 thing to avoid in my birth plan! Admitted for reduced movements and Pessary was fitted 5pm Wednesday with my cervix completely closed. Contractions started at 7pm coming 3 in every 10 mins but not very strong, they spread out a little through the night and became more consistent but further apart. Then on Thursday evening, after the 24 hours, pessary was removed and I was 3cm. Taken to labour ward Friday morning and waters were broken 12pm and hormones drip given at 2pm. Our little girl was here by 7pm with only 50mins of pushing… I used the tens machine and wooden comb and paracetamol whilst being induced then went on to have dihydrocodeine on the Thursday night after over 24 hours of contractions so I could get some sleep as the next step was her arrival and then just gas and air and dihydrocodeine whilst in active labour… the gas and air was really good for regulating and concentrating on my breathing!

The main positive for me was we were monitored so closely due to the induction that we knew she was ok at all times until the moment she arrived with us x

@Sammie thank you so much Sammie. Tbh, I was induced with my first baby and it was alright. I don't know why I really am so scared for this one. Maybe because I have seen a lot of negative's about it ending in an emergency section!🥹🥹 I mean, if it's necessary for a Cs I don't mind it but I dread it too at the same time!🥹🥹🥹. But thank you so much ❤️

@oge I know exactly what you mean! I was completely against induction as I thought that’s how it would end too but luckily she arrived safely! x

@Sammie I sent you a message lovely X
