Normal?

Baby shakes head side to side and tugs at ears sometimes. Is this a development thing or should I be concerned? Baby is 7 months old

Mine has done this for months - it’s a soothing thing I think.

Yeah mine has done this for a while, it's self soothing 🙂

Self soothing and teething

Touching ears can be a sign of teething too x

@Amie we are having such a nightmare with her at the moment, at bedtime she just cries while we are trying to get her ready for bed 😩

Do you have a set routine at bedtime?x

@Amie yeah we do, she only cries laying down the first chance she can get to roll over she does.

Our girl rolls over in her cot and cries too, I usually lay in the bed next to her but in the dark so she can’t see me and just flip her over when she does and don’t say anything. Are you leaving big enough gaps between her last nap of the day and bedtime? Our little girl has her last nap around 4:30pm and goes to bed between 7:30&8pm. We’ve used gentle white noise and red lights and found these helpful too some nights. The rolling over will probably ease as they get older fingers crossed 🤞🏻!xx

@Amie I think her wake windows from last nap to bedtime is too long but she refuses to go sleep. Her last nap is around 1:30 but today she didn’t sleep much and was up from 2 till now

Oh bless her yeah that’s quite a while for her to last, try and work on changing her nap patterns a bit, will be manic at first but worth sticking to it to see if it makes a difference x

My little girl does this as well. Shakes her head like she's saying 'no' and pulls at her ears when she is tired x

My little girl wriggles and gets upset when we change her because she’s tired and knows bedtime is coming, and it’s just a fight to get her changed. She calms down for story time but starts rubbing her eyes so we have to move fairly quickly!
