Embarrassing Feeding Problem 🥲

I am right-handed and find that I am naturally much more comfortable feeding him on the right boob as I feel more comfortable and able to position him and myself. Naturally - he seems more able to latch better on the right and prefer it too! This is becoming a bit of a problem despite trying sit up position (great when it works but he gets frustrated if not awake enough to work for it) or my Ergo baby pillow. Any resources or tips for righties struggling to feed on the left and vice versa?

Try feeding laying down on the bed on your side. That way you don’t have to hold him. He should latch better too x

Yeah I find my right hand side easier and I think she prefers it too. Which position do you feed in currently?

@Cass I tried this before but felt like my flow is fast and he was coughing a lot

@Bethan usual cradle and sitting on my lap

Try a rugby hold. You’ll be able to position with your stringer arm and babies are often fooled into thinking they’re on the preferred boob

I had a similar experience with my first. Weirdly, I'm also right handed but for us left boob was working better. Following midwife's advice, I fed on the left boobie in cradle position. When done on the left side, I just turned the feeding pillow around my body, with baby on it, to offer baby the right boobie in rugby position 😊

@Zeynep you could hand express some out first, that might work?
